UNSW Runners Health and Performance PhD — AUD 15,000 Top-Up
UNSW Sydney
UNSW and the We Run Foundation seek PhD candidates to study runner engagement, health and performance. The project offers a possible AUD 15,000 annual top-up; the successful candidate must separately apply for an RTP stipend, which is not guaranteed. Domestic and international applicants may express interest by 31 October 2026.
This industry-linked PhD project at UNSW Sydney will examine training and competition demands among runners in Sydney run clubs and the Sydney Marathon, with scope to study support strategies for underrepresented running populations. Multiple candidates may be considered. The preferred candidate will receive help from the research team with the UNSW PhD admission process. Send an up-to-date CV and a 300-word cover letter to Nattai Borges by 31 October 2026. If approved for the top-up, apply separately for an RTP stipend when seeking PhD admission; the RTP is a distinct competitive award.
