How we verify scholarships

Verification means checking that a listing points to an identifiable provider or programme and accurately separates known facts from missing information. It does not mean Prime Scholarship Alerts guarantees the provider, award, admission decision or applicant outcome.

Identify the provider

We check the university, government, foundation, research group, employer or funder named in the listing and look for a provider-controlled web presence.

Locate the current source

We prefer the official programme page, current call, provider document or authorised application portal. A copied article is not treated as the final rule.

Check status and deadline

We record whether the opportunity is open, rolling, unknown or closed and compare the deadline text with a structured date when one is available.

Test the eligibility summary

Nationality, residence, study level, subject, grade, experience, admission and nomination statements are checked against the provider wording and limitations.

Review funding claims

Tuition, stipend, travel, insurance, accommodation and research support are separated. We avoid calling an award fully funded when the source does not support that description.

Confirm the application destination

The application button should lead to the provider or an identifiable authorised system. Suspicious redirects, payment requests and mismatched domains require caution or removal.

What the “last checked” date means

The date records the most recent stored verification or source check available for the listing. Providers can change a deadline, form or eligibility rule after that date. Always open the source immediately before applying and save the current official instructions.

Your final applicant check

Stop and verify these warning signs

A guaranteed award, admission or visa.
Payment to an individual for a shortlist or selection.
A domain that does not match the provider or authorised portal.
Requests for passwords, PINs, one-time codes or banking credentials.
Pressure to act before you can read the official terms.
Funding or eligibility claims absent from the provider page.

Report a problem

Use the report control on a listing or contact us with the page URL, the field that appears wrong and a current provider source. Reports can lead to a correction, clarification, expiry, merge or removal from active search.
