Simons Foundation Fellows-to-Faculty Award 2027
Simons Foundation
A transition award for mentored postdoctoral researchers moving into independent neuroscience faculty roles. Selected faculty receive a $600,000 institutional research grant over three years; an optional preceding postdoctoral award can provide up to $110,000 per year for two years. Apply by 13 January 2027, noon US Eastern Time.
The Simons Foundation Fellows-to-Faculty Award supports scientists currently in mentored, non-independent research training who are ready to compete for an independent faculty appointment beginning around September 2027. Research must align with SFARI/autism, plasticity and aging brain, or ecological neuroscience priorities. The faculty phase provides $200,000 per year for three years ($600,000 total, including indirect costs) as a research grant to the host institution; it is not a personal salary or student stipend. An optional preceding postdoctoral phase provides up to $110,000 per year for at most two years, including a stipend component, career development and health/benefit support. Applicants of any citizenship may apply; awards may activate at eligible institutions inside or outside the United States, excluding institutions in mainland China and Hong Kong. Read the RFA and submit through Simons Award Manager.
