Funding is provided for research projects dealing with the religious, political, social, and cultural history of Europe from the early modern period to the present. Projects that adopt a transnational or comparative perspective, as well as those dealing with religious, intellectual, and environmental history or applying digital methods, are particularly welcome.Fellows live and work in the Institute’s building in Mainz—the fellowships require residency in Mainz.
