The successful candidate will investigate the mechanisms governing mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) transmission and maintenance. The project will combine genetic, cell biological, and molecular approaches using both Drosophila and human cell models to uncover the fundamental principles that regulate mtDNA inheritance and stability. A tax-free maintenance stipend for four years at the current UKRI rate. Applications from international students are warmly welcomed.
