ICR Fully Funded PhD: Targeting IRF4 in Myeloma
The Institute of Cancer Research
The Institute of Cancer Research is recruiting a PhD student to investigate ways to target IRF4, a key vulnerability in myeloma, in Dr Charlotte Pawlyn’s group. This four-year, fully funded ICR studentship starts in October 2027. Apply by 16 November 2026.
The project will identify native binding partners and E3 ligases associated with IRF4 and test strategies to direct its degradation in myeloma. The team plans to use proteomics, CRISPR screens and cellular models. The project is based at the ICR’s Sutton site. ICR-funded studentships cover tuition fees, research costs and a tax-free stipend. The currently advertised ICR stipend is £27,565 per year; the 2027 award rate should be confirmed in the offer. Applicants should apply through the ICR portal and select three projects rather than contacting the supervisor directly.
