Dundee Proteome Social Network PhD — Tony Ly Lab
University of Dundee
Dr Tony Ly’s team at the University of Dundee is recruiting for a four-year BBSRC-funded PhD on cellular protein interaction networks, mass spectrometry and machine learning. The award covers tuition, research and training costs, and a UKRI-rate stipend. Home and international applicants can apply by 16 November 2026.
The student will develop a pipeline combining native protein chromatography, LC-MS/MS proteomics and deep-learning structural modelling, then use it to study how protein interactions change during cell-cycle entry and senescence. The project starts in September 2027 in Dundee’s Faculty of Life Sciences, led by Dr Tony Ly with Dr James Abbott. The four-year BBSRC EASTBIO studentship covers tuition fees, training and research costs, and a stipend at the UKRI rate, currently £21,805 annually.
