The China Scholarship Council and University of Melbourne jointly support eligible Chinese citizens enrolling in a Melbourne PhD across disciplines. Melbourne provides full tuition remission for up to four years and a supplementary living allowance. The CSC provides a separate living allowance, health cover, return airfare and visa fees. Applicants first apply to the University for a PhD and indicate CSC funding; candidates offered a place and tuition scholarship must then apply to the CSC through the Cooperative Channel. The university no longer supports individual-channel CSC applications.
