Cardiff University and the China Scholarship Council are running a 2027 partnership route for Chinese nationals entering a PhD, ideally in October 2027. Applicants first apply to Cardiff for a PhD and identify the partnership as their funding source. Schools nominate eligible offer holders; successful nominees must then apply through the CSC partnership portal when it opens in March 2027. The Cardiff tuition scholarship is valid only if the CSC also awards support. Clinical programmes, current PhD students and PhD pathway students are excluded. Funding is marked partial/conditional here because Cardiff’s component covers tuition only and living/travel support depends on a separate CSC decision.
