Cambridge FIBE3 PhD: Extreme Weather and Concrete Infrastructure (2027)
University of Cambridge
Cambridge FIBE3 CDT and National Highways seek a PhD researcher to study how extreme weather affects concrete placement and long-term infrastructure performance. Home-eligible students can receive fees and maintenance funding.
This Future Infrastructure and Built Environment doctoral project examines how weather during concrete placement and more severe exposure in service can affect concrete behaviour. The work aims to inform practical guidance for construction conditions and help future-proof new and existing infrastructure. Professor Janet Lees is the project contact. Early applications are encouraged because an offer may be made before the stated closing date.
