Cambridge Balasubramanian Genome Chemistry PhD 2027 — UK Fees and Stipend
University of Cambridge
A four-year PhD in Professor Sir Shankar Balasubramanian’s Cambridge chemistry group starts in October 2027. The studentship pays maintenance and UK-rate tuition; overseas applicants would need a separate award for any fee gap. Apply by 29 October 2026.
The Balasubramanian group at the University of Cambridge is recruiting for a PhD at the chemistry–biology interface, studying genome and epigenome function. Projects may involve G-quadruplex DNA, chromatin, genomics, chemical biology, molecular biophysics and small-molecule targeting. The student will be based in the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry and work with collaborators at the CRUK Cambridge Institute. The award begins in October 2027 and lasts four years.
