New Zealand Space Agency support for up to seven eligible postgraduate STEM students to spend up to 13 weeks at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California in 2027. Travel, accommodation and daily allowance supported; deadline 1 November 2026.
The 2027 New Zealand Space Scholarship supports postgraduate STEM students from New Zealand institutions for an in-person research internship at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, generally July to September 2027. Up to seven students may be selected. The New Zealand Space Agency preselects candidates before JPL makes final placement decisions. Apply through the official MBIE job listing by 1 November 2026. The scholarship covers specified costs, while expenses exceeding the award remain the recipient’s responsibility.

Benefits

Eligibility summary
New Zealand citizens aged 18 or older who will be enrolled in a relevant postgraduate STEM qualification at a New Zealand tertiary institution in 2027. Minimum GPA equivalent to 3.0/4.0, relevant space science/engineering/technology interest, availability for the US internship, visa eligibility, insurance and required health/security checks are specified by MBIE.
